Overview
Six months is long enough to read every chapter of the Bible and short enough that the story stays fresh in your mind from beginning to end. This plan covers all 1,189 chapters in 180 daily readings of six to seven chapters, about 30 minutes a day. You will finish Genesis in the first week and reach Revelation before the season changes twice. The plan follows the traditional book order: the Pentateuch, the historical books, poetry and wisdom, the prophets, and then the New Testament. Reading at this pace has a particular benefit. The connections between books are easier to notice when Exodus is still recent as you read Hebrews, or when the Psalms are only a few weeks behind you as you reach the Gospels. Many readers say the Bible felt like one story for the first time when they read it quickly. This is a plan for a season with room in it: a sabbatical, a summer, a new year's resolution with real time behind it, or a group that wants to read together at a brisk pace. Thirty minutes is a real commitment, so it helps to tie the reading to a fixed part of your day. Lummi keeps your place, tracks your streak, and makes it easy to pick up tomorrow if today slips.

Reading Tips
- 1Split the reading in two if 30 minutes at once is hard: three chapters in the morning, the rest at night.
- 2Read for the story, not for study. Keep moving and mark passages to come back to later.
- 3The long stretches of law and genealogy pass quickly at this pace. Read them for what they reveal about the people and the promise.
- 4Try an audio Bible for part of the daily reading on busy days. Listening counts.
- 5If you fall behind, keep the daily reading the same size and let the finish date move instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many chapters a day is the Bible in 6 months?
Six or seven chapters a day, about 30 minutes of reading. That covers all 1,189 chapters in 180 days.
Is 6 months too fast to read the Bible?
Not if your goal is to see the whole story. You will not study every passage in depth, but you will finish, and reading quickly makes the connections between books easier to notice. Many people follow a fast read with a slower plan through one book.
What order does the plan follow?
Traditional book order, Genesis through Revelation. The Old Testament takes about the first four and a half months and the New Testament the rest.
What if I miss a few days?
Pick up where you stopped. Lummi saves your place and there is no penalty for a slower finish. Reading the Bible in seven or eight months still counts.
Is there a printable PDF of this plan?
Yes. The PDF lists all 180 readings grouped by week with a checkbox for each day, and it is free to download from this page.
